Kansas Trip

We took Reed on his first trip to Parsons, KS this past weekend to visit Grandma and Grandpa Santee, Reed's great-grandparents. We stopped off on the way in Stillwater, OK to visit the Fowlers. It was really good to see everyone. They have a pug so Reed felt right at home.














After we got to Parsons we drove another hour to eat dinner at Chicken Mary's. Aaron has been eating at this restaurant since he was a little boy and it is a Shields family favorite. They serve the best fried chicken, German potato salad, and German slaw. Reed loved the mashed potatoes and the apple sauce. Every time he would take a bite, he would scream. I think we will be going back!

The next morning his Grandmother made her delicious homemade Cinnamon rolls, biscuits and gravy, and pan fried bacon. I think I gained 5 pounds over the weekend. She is the best cook! Afterwards we had Christmas, Reed started by opening all his presents. I think his favorite was the cow hand puppet that sings Christmas carols. He has enjoyed playing with all his new toys.
